This would not have been an issue if the player can just click a button in the launcher to start the game. The launcher is present even in the GOG version of the game apparently, CD Projekt does not consider first-party game launchers to be DRM. There appears to be no way to bypass this the main executable for the game still brings up the launcher anyway. Unfortunately, the game starts itself off by showing one of its most dubious aspects: a game launcher that asks the player to log onto his/her account in Triumph’s servers. You know that this is a game with fantastical settings when there are things like armored lingerie.Īs will be mentioned in detail later, Triumph Studios has included many good things in its game. More importantly, its gameplay designs, especially those for combat, are significantly more sophisticated than those in the previous games. With Age of Wonders III, Triumph Studios (the maker of the series) addresses many of the problems in the earlier games, though not without a minor caveat or two. However, they had problems, chief of which are their ugly presentation, problematic progression systems for heroes and spell/magic mechanisms which are a bit easy to exploit.
